Well, I have to say that it did!
The 70.3 Ironman Whirlpool Steelhead Triathlon is officially in the books. Throughout the run I never thought that I would finish the race as once again I pushed the bike as hard as I could and for the run I only saved 7 miles worth of effort...
Either way, I am very happy about my race. I FINISHED THE RACE!!! No one can take that away from me. Secondly, I improved on my previous best time at this distance by a whole minute (I had to work for that minute let me tell you!). I also had a blast just being out there amongst 1,425 finishers all searching for the same goal… that bloody finish line!
Not much time to write but before I go from this post I have to express my disappointment on the lack of race marshals on the bike course. Throughout the entire 56 Miles I never saw one and the drafting was just out of hand. I saw 4 groups of people, ranging from 7 or 8 all the way to 30 or so, just going at it not even on the aero-bars just shooting the breeze taking turns in an organized paceline. Where were the marshals? That is what I would like to know…
Other than that, the volunteers were incredible. Many Thanks to everyone out there at the aid stations. The course, was sensational along with the organization. I come away from this race with great memories…
All right, now I really have to get going… Mrs. Clot Buster will be busting my chops here soon…
Stay tuned for more later on…
Thanks for reading.

I'm so bummed I missed seeing you. I kept looking for the polka dots but you must have been going so fast you were just a blur! :)
I totally agree about the marshals. I had one draft pack fly by me and was rather annoyed with them. I mean, really! Pull your own weight.
Congratulations! You looked great going out to the run. I saw you coming out of transition and yelled your name. I didn't see you again after the race though...to much going on and too many people. I'm glad that you had a good race. I'm planning on being there again next year....racing.
great job! I don't know how I missed you in the polka dots!
